I went to my interview on Thursday, and liked the people a lot. But, unfortunately the job description was not what I thought it was. It sounded a bit over my head, and I don’t know that I would accept it even if they do call me back. At least it was good to meet them, and get back in into the groove of interviewing.
I have an appointment on Tuesday, with an agency that helps people find jobs. A friend of mine who programs, says his company only hires through this agency, and one of the guys who was a System Admin worked his last day today, so I’m giving it a shot and hoping somehow my application filters down to his company and his boss might interview me. Otherwise, we’ll see what else they find. I have to ask if there’s a catch though.
I also saw a position with the City I’m going to apply for: Computer Programmer / Systems Analyst. It closes on 2/28/07, so it will be a while before they choose someone. Either way, its exciting and scary to be looking for a new job. One of the guys got a position elsewhere in the company as a Business Analyst for one of the clinical systems. It should be a good experience for him, so I hope he likes the job.
I’ve been trying to study for my A+ Hardware exam coming up on the 19th. I really hope I don’t fail, but know I haven’t been studying enough. I’ll be scheduling the OS part later. I decided not to pay for testking.
All the best in your job hunting. Remember to always check the expectations of your future employer before you decide whether to be part of the team.
Last but not least……follow your heart. If it says it’s good to try, then go ahead
